Welcome to The Sharan Project Blog Page. Here at Sharan (meaning protector in Hindi) we aimed to provide access to advice and support for women who have been disowned/left home and who would like to be better informed about their options and choices for sucessful independent living without fear. Whilst this is an inclusive service for all women, our focus will be on addressing the gap in providing life kills and support to South Asian women in the UK.

As as grass roots organisation we continue to grow all the time but we cannot do this without your help. We believe that by giving women the confidence, support and skills to become integrated into society, this will greatly increase their chances of living successful independent lives without fear. More importantly, they will feel they are not alone and often just need a friend who understands without judgement.

Coming soon will be a serise of blogs designed to raise awareness of the barriers and challenges faced by South Asian women. Why not get involved, join our community and start blogging. There are many ways in which you can get involved to support  our work, visit www.sharan.org.uk to find out more or email us info@sharan.org.uk
