Mumtaz’s Story

Mumtaz was disowned by her family for pursuing her career. She went on to become a very successful artist, she is married and has two children and devotes time towards supporting many organisations that help women who have fled domestic violence or forced marriage. Mumtaz left home over 10 years ago for cultural reasons and was surprised to find an organisation that does not label women as to why they leave but supports them once they do. Through speaking with an advisor at Sharan, Mumtaz was able to open up about her own experiences for the first time.
