This year marks our 10th year of supporting vulnerable women.

We were delighted to mark this occasion by celebrating with our partners, supporters and ambassador at HMS President.

The Sharan Project was created through the vision and dedication of our founder, Polly Harrar in 2008. Having recognised a gap in services to support women who had been disowned by their families and communities due to abuse or persecution, Polly invested her life savings and, at great personal risk, set up the first online portal for South Asian women to safely access support online, with over half a million visitors to our website we continue to provide information to allow women to make informed decisions. We also see around 500 requests for support each year and our one to one support has empowered women to re build their lives free from fear.

Our campaigns and projects have reached hundreds of thousands of young people, professionals and communities, working to ensure information and support is available for those affected by harmful practices and seeking to prevent all forms of violence against women and girls.

As a multi-award winning charity, our work has been widely recognised and we have seen real change in government policies, legislation and within communities.

None of this would be possible without the support of our trustees, volunteers, ambassadors, partners and supporters and we would like to thank everyone for all their continued support.

We remain a volunteer led, grass roots organisation and we have big ambitions for the future. If you would like to support our work, please do get in touch or find out how you can get involved to help women in need.
